What is this?

This class will expand any students rhythmic understanding and aid in the development of rhythmic skills which are essential for sound musicianship regardless of their instrument.  PLUS it's a lot of fun!

The Rhythm Band-- Using an assortment of drums, instruments AND plastic buckets, this class introduces students to the wonderful world of rhythm.  We start at the beginning learning basic rhythms in a group.  We will discuss, meter, tempo, note values, timekeeping, and how it all fits together.  We will then move on to learning a West African groove in 3 parts.

NOTE: Percussion  is world music so a brief history of some of the Earths rich traditions will be presented.  Each class is 90 minutes in length and has 6-12 students participating.  All instruments are provided.
